Can I Add Unallocated Space to a Partition Without Turning the Drive to Dynamic

I want to add unallocated space to a partition. How do I increase the partition size on a disk without converting it into a dynamic drive, as it keeps warning me that I should do so?

Should I convert to a dynamic disk? It depends. It's unnecessary for you to turn the drive to dynamic if you want to merge the unallocated space into the partition on the same hard drive. In that case, EaseUS Partition Master can cover you perfectly as it can extend a partition with contiguous or non-adjacent free space. What's more. Suppose you intend to increase the size of the partition on another drive. In that case, you must convert the drive to a dynamic drive so that you can move the unallocated space to another drive, which EaseUS Partition Master can also apply to.

Option 1. Extend the Partition on the Same Drive

Use the "Resize/Move" feature for adding adjacent/non-adjacent free space to the partition on the same hard drive:

Step 1. Locate the partition you want to resize, right-click it, and select "Resize/Move."

Step 2. Drag the end of the partition and merge it into the unallocated space. Click "OK".

Step 3. Hit "Execute Task" and click"Apply" to expand the partition on the same drive.

Option 2. Convert the Basic Disk to the Dynamic One

You can use the "Disk Converter" tool of EaseUS Partition Master to convert the basic to dynamic smoothly:

Step 1. Launch EaseUS Partition Master and navigate to Disk Converter.

Step 2. Pick the right disk conversion mode that satisfies your needs: Convert Basic to Dynamic.

Step 3. Select the target disk and confirm the operation by clicking "Convert."

Then, you can try to move the unallocated space to another drive and resize its partition space.
