Can I Delete a Partition on a USB Drive in Windows 10/11?

When I tried to install Ubuntu, I unintentionally partitioned a USB disk. It is a 16 GB Kingston flash drive divided into two 7.30 GB-sized partitions. How can I delete one of the partitions?

Partitioning a USB drive is an effective way to manage your storage device. However, deleting the partitions on the USB can help you simplify disk management and create more unallocated space. In addition, removing partitions on the USB will enhance transfer speed. I will introduce three methods to help you delete partitions without formatting the USB drive.

📖Note: Delete a partition will erase all the data on it, which means you must back up the important data before proceeding.

Way 1. EaseUS Partition Master - Best

If you are tech-savvy, EaseUS Partition Master is your best choice, as it has beginner-friendly operations. Its free delete tool can apply to most file systems, including NTFS, FAT/FAT32, and EXT2/EXT3. Below is a full guide on how to do it:

Windows 11/10/8/7100% Secure

Step 1. Open EaseUS Partition Master to get in the "Partition Manager" tab.

Step 2. Choose to delete one or all partitions on your USB.

  • Delete single partition: locate the partition you want to delete and select "Delete."
  • Delete all partitions: right-click the USB drive that you want to delete all partitions, and hit "Delete All."

Step 3. Click "Yes" > "Execute xx Task" and "Apply" to confirm the deletion.

Way 2. Disk Management

Disk Management can also help you remove the partition on your USB. However, this Windows-based tool can only delete one partition at a time. If you want to delete multiple partitions, you need to repeat its deleting operation as follows:

Step 1. Right-click the "Start" icon or press the "Windows + X" keys to locate Disk Management.

Step 2. Right-click the target partition and hit "Delete Volume."

Step 3. This process will delete one partition and make it be marked as unallocated space.
