Can You Help Me to Remove the Recovery Partition?

I plan to convert the disk containing my operating system to a dynamic disk (from a basic disk). But there is not enough space on the disk to do that. Microsoft notes the solution is to delete the last partition on the disk. I want to remove my recovery partition(not created by OEM)

If your recovery partition occupies a significant amount of valuable disk space, it will prevent you from operations like converting dynamic disk to basic. What's more? You will find the Windows system wouldn't let you delete the recovery partition as it contains important system recovery files. In this case, EaseUS Partition Master Free is your best alternative option available in attempting to remove the recovery partition.

With the help of its "Partition Manager" tool, you can break the limitation and completely delete the recovery partition for more disk space. Before taking any actions, you'd better back up all essential data on the recovery partition and the system disk to ensure a normal boot procedure.

Step 1. Install EaseUS Partition Master and go to the "Partition Manager" section. Right-click the recovery partition to choose "Delete."

Step 2. When a prompt(Do you want to delete the selected partition?)comes up, click "Yes."

Step 3. Click "Apply" after hitting "Execute xx Task" to remove the recovery partition.

In addition, the Command Prompt can also get you to where you want. However, this method is not friendly to computer beginners as any wrong operation could cause damage to the system.

Step 1. Bring the Run box by pressing "Windows + R." Type diskpart before hitting "Enter" in the CMD.

Step 2. Input the commands below(Ensure to hit "Enter" after each):

  • list disk
  • select disk # (#: the target disk number)
  • list partition
  • select partition $ ($: the target partition number)
  • delete partition

Step 3. Type exit and also press "Enter" to quit CMD.

Here is a complete guide of what to do when you can't delete the recovery partition:
