Can You Move an Operating System to Another Hard Drive?

I am using a 256G hard drive on my laptop with Windows 10 installed, but it is almost full and running slowly. So, I wanna replace it with a bigger one. Can I move an operating system from my old drive to another drive? If so, how?

Yes, you can transfer your operating system from one drive to another. But you have to use professional disk cloning software, like EaseUS Disk Copy.

The OS disk (C:) can be copied over to the new disk by attaching a new disk with at least the same capacity as your old disk and leaving your old disk in place. The new system disk will then be cloned when you remove the original disk. You can either add a partition (if the disk's partition settings permit it) or enlarge an existing partition if the new disk has more space than the old one.

If you want to transfer OS to a new hard drive, you have to use third-party cloning software because Windows does not offer a cloning tool for you to do that. In that case, EaseUS Disk Copy can satisfy your needs.

EaseUS Disk Copy is a professional disk cloning tool for Windows 11/10/8/7. It can help you to clone the system, disk, partition, etc., and you can use it to transfer your C drive to a new drive. In addition, you can use it to replace a laptop hard drive without reinstalling Windows and clone a hard disk with bad sectors.

You can move your operating system to another drive with the help of EaseUS Disk Copy.
