My 4GB SanDisk SD card won't let me remove any files. It's write-protected on the SD card, despite my attempts to format it. There is no lock setting on the card switch. What's wrong, and how can it be fixed?

Many reasons can cause this issue: the files you want to delete are occupying, your SD card is corrupted, or the connection between the SD card and PC is unstable. If the physical switch does not lock your SD card, you should try other methods.
Your SD card may occasionally become encrypted by malware or viruses, adding write protection and preventing you from accessing the recorded data. Running antivirus software and eradicating write protection viruses from your memory SD card is the most effective fix.
Your SD card can be made re-writable by using the command line to remove the read-only status. You should run CMD and type in diskpart and press the Enter key. You should type in list disk, select disk x, attributes disk clear readonly one by one to remove the write-protection of your SD card.
The Registry Editor can remove write protection from the SD card. Search for regedit from the search bar. You should go to this folder: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies. Right-click the folder, choose "New", and then choose "DWORD Value". Give it the name "WriteProtect". Set the Value Data to "0" and restart your computer.
If your files and folders are lost when you are using your SD card, you should know SD card recovery is possible.
