How Do I Backup Software in Windows 10?

Several programs are installed in the system, and some are in the program files folder. Is there a way to back up those installed apps so that I won't have to reinstall them and redo all the settings and customizations after a hardware upgrade? Answers will be appreciated. Thanks!

You can use two ways to help you back up installed programs in Windows 10. They are Windows built-in backup tool - Backup and Restore (Windows 7), and professional backup software - EaseUS Todo Backup.

Way 1. Backup Installed Programs via Backup and Restore (Windows 7)

You can use the Windows native backup tool - Backup and Restore (Windows 7) to do a full backup of installed apps in Windows 11/10/8/7.

The steps are as follows:

Step 1. Type backup and restore in the Windows 10 Search box and open it, then click Create a system image in the left panel.

Step 2. Determine where you want to keep the backup.

Step 3. Confirm your backup information and click on Start Backup to back up the installed software and everything in the system partition.

Way 2. Backup Installed Programs via EaseUS Todo Backup

EaseUS Todo Backup is a reliable backup application for PC. You can easily back up installed programs in Windows 10 with its system backup function. It can help you create various backup types, including full, incremental, and differential backups. In addition, it lets you create an image of your SD card and back up your SSD to an image.

The steps are as follows:

Step 1. Click "Select backup contents" on the main page.

Step 2. Click OS among the four available categories.

Step 3. It will automatically select the system partition, and you should choose the backup destination.
