How Do I Clone My Entire C Drive to a New HDD?

My C drive has been used for many years and everything seems so slow, and I feel so infuriated about it. I bought a new HDD yesterday, and it has a larger capacity compared with the one I use now. How can I transfer all data from my C drive to this new HDD without losing data?

Cloning the C drive to a new HDD means transferring the operating system, applications, and all system-related data to the new HDD.

It is a challenging task because you need to move all the system-related files to the new HDD without losing any data. The consequences will be immeasurable if the process is disturbed or affected. So, the best way to clone the entire C drive to a new HDD is via third-party cloning software, like EaseUS Disk Copy.

EaseUS Disk Copy is a professional disk cloning tool that supports cloning HDD to larger HDD, HDD to SSD, SSD to M.2 SSD, cloning drive with bad sectors, and upgrading hard disk to a larger one, etc. With it, you can clone your entire C drive to a new HDD without losing data or reinstalling the operating system. Another excellent point of EaseUS Disk Copy is the sector-by-sector clone, which means you can clone only used partitions to the new HDD.

With a simple and intuitive interface, you can use EaseUS Disk Copy to clone the C drive to the new HDD with a few clicks.

Remember to backup the hard drive if there is data on it because the disk cloning will erase all data on the target disk. Now, you can start the C Drive cloning process:

  • Install and launch EaseUS Disk Copy on your computer.
  • Connect or install the new HDD to your computer.
  • Choose the C drive as the source disk under the "Disk Mode".
  • Select the HDD as the target disk.
  • Preview the disk layout of the two disks, and click "Proceed" to start the cloning task.

The cloning time relies on how much data is on your target C drive. You can replace the C drive with the new HDD when it finishes.

Cloning the C drive to a new HDD/SSD has many benefits, including improving your PC's performance, having a faster speed, and also saving the trouble of reinstalling the system. Using the correct cloning tool will save you a lot of precious time as well as avoid data loss. EaseUS Disk Copy will make the C drive cloning easier.
