Here are two methods to back up Windows 7 before installing Windows 10.
The first method needs an external hard drive connected to your Windows 7 PC and uses the Backup and Restore function of Windows.
Here are the simple steps:
Step 1. Hit Start> Control Panel> System and Security> Backup and Restore
Step 2. Click the Set up Backup option and choose the external hard drive you prepared
Step 3. Check the Let me choose option and hit Next
Step 4. Then the backup process will start
Although it is very practical to use the functions of Windows 7 to back up data, there are also great limitations. This built-in function can only back up the data in the same drive as the operating system. In other words, if your important data is distributed in multiple drives, you will lose them if you only use Backup and Restore to back up the system.
