Hi! I'm here to help you solve this problem with simple steps. But first, let's be clear about one thing: Disk Utility does help us clone any storage device on our Mac, but the software always calls the process "Restore".

So if you see the word "Restore" in the steps I've given below, don't be confused. Disk Utility's restore feature is sufficient to achieve the cloning result.

Step 1. Navigate to Applications> Utilities> Disk Utility on your Mac.

Step 2. Open the Disk Utility app, and the tool window will pop up.

Step 3. Select the volume of the hard drive you want to clone in the sidebar.

Step 4. Head to Edit on the top menu bar, and choose Restore.

Step 5. Then a sheet will drop down, and you should select the source device for the cloning process. Also, you should know that the data from the volume you just selected will be replaced with data from the source device.

Step 6. After selecting the source volume, hit the Restore button, and the process will begin.

Step 7. When the Restore process ends, click the Done button to close the sheet.

Disk Utility does provide Mac users with an easy way to create a copy of their hard drive. However, by nature, Disk Utility is not powerful enough to fully satisfy all users' needs for cloning.

Therefore, if you want to carry out cloning plans such as cloning hard drives with bad sectors, upgrading hard drives, system migration, etc., EaseUS Disk Copy would be the first choice.
