The process to clone a PCIe M.2 SSD is the same as cloning a hard drive to SSD. It covers the following main steps:

  • Backup data on the source PCIe M.2 SSD to an external hard drive with backup software.
  • Install the new M.2 SSD to your computer/laptop.
  • Initialize the new M.2 SSD.
  • Download an M.2 SSD cloning software.
  • Clone data on PCIe m.2 SSD to the new M.2 SSD.
  • Boot PC from the new clone M.2 SSD.

Before cloning, you need to install the new M.2 SSD installed on your computer and make it recognized. Make sure the SSD slot is compatible with your new M.2 SSD. If your computer has only one slot, you can connect it to your laptop with an adapter.

Using reliable disk cloning software is also important, which is the key to determining the smoothness and success of disk cloning. EaseUS Disk Copy is one of the most widely used disk cloning tools that supports cloning PCIe M.2 SSD. With it, you can upgrade your PCIe M.2 SSD with simple steps.
