How to Copy DOTA 2 from One System to Another?

I'm recently moving in with my parents and the computer there doesn't have DOTA 2. If I re-download the game, it will take a long time, is there any way to copy it directly to another computer?

Of course, there are ways to copy DOTA 2 to another system! I bring you two ways for you to choose.

📍1. Use Steam's built-in Backup feature.

The details of how to do this are as follows:

Step 1. Navigate to the Steam> Library.

Step 2. Right-click DOTA 2, and choose Properties.

Step 3. Then head to Installed Files, and choose the Backup game files button.

Step 4. Now select an external hard drive or USB by hitting the Browse option.

Step 5. Hit the Create backup button, and the process will start now.

This method is very simple and relies solely on Steam's built-in functionality to complete all backup operations. However, it has an obvious disadvantage - it is very slow. And the speed of restoring data in a new device will be greatly limited.

If you want to back up and restore your DOTA 2 files in a very short time, then the second method is a better option.

📍1. Use EaseUS Todo Backup

EaseUS Todo Backup is very outstanding backup software. No matter how big the game files are, it can complete backups and universal restores with flying speed.

You don't even need to prepare additional storage tools, you can save all your data copies in the free cloud space it provides; 250 GB is enough for you to save multiple Steam games.

This is the local file location for DOTA 2:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2\dota

You need to set that folder as the backup destination, use EaseUS to back up that file to the cloud space and restore the file to the original location on your parents' home computer to run the game normally.
