How to Fix Cloned Hard Drive Shows Wrong Size

I just bought a WD 1 TB HDD to replace my 250 GB HDD and used free cloning software to clone data to the new HDD. When I go into the computer after clinging, it is still showing up as 8 GB free of 232 GB. What can I do to fix this right now?

Here's the thing, if the cloning image sets a lower storage limit than your disk has, this issue may appear. And the solution varies based on different situations.

If your disk uses the MBR scheme and has a capacity greater than 2TB, you need EaseUS Disk Copy to solve your problem. This software can clone an old HDD/SSD to a new computer, create a complete backup for instant restore, and even clone a drive with bad sectors without showing the wrong size.

Try it by clicking the button below.

If your disk has a capacity smaller than 2TB, follow the steps below to fix this issue:

1. Right-click on the Windows icon on the taskbar. Click on the Disk Management option to open it.

2. Now, you will be able to see the storage devices connected to your computer. Right-click on the local disk (C :) and select the Extend Volume option...

3. When the Extend Volume Wizard window appears, you can adjust the size so that it uses all the unallocated space. Then, click on Next.

After that, your computer should show you the right size.
