Before installing Lenovo recovery USB, you need to make sure the device you have can do this successfully. Usually, you need to fulfill the System Hardware Prerequisites below:

  • 32GB or larger USB key
  • USB 2.0 or 3.0 key
  • A computer to download the recovery files and create the USB recovery key
  • At least 20GB of free space for downloading recovery files
  • Windows 7 or later
  • Fast Internet connection (20 Mbps is recommended)

Now, you can follow the steps here to install Lenovo recovery USB on your computer.

  1. 1. Insert the USB into the Lenovo computer on which you want to restore the operating system.
  2. 2. Restart the computer and repeatedly press/release the F12 key during that process. You will see the boot menu displayed.
  3. 3. Select your USB and click Enter. Select a language and click Next. Select I agree to these terms and conditions and click Next.
  4. 4. Click Yes in the displayed dialog box to continue the recovery process.
  5. 5. Remove the USB key and click Yes to restart your computer. Then, you can follow the instructions on the screen to complete the Windows setup.
