I Want to Create a Partition for Windows Files Only on the SSD, How?

I'm creating partitions for my SSD and want to create one for Windows files only (boot and other stuff). This is a new drive, and I don't have any data on it. My question is: Is it correct to just put the Windows folder in 1 partition and the other folders, like Program files, users in the other partition?

It's 100% correct to put your Windows files, like the boot loader and setup files, in one partition that is separate from other personal files. And here are the advantages of creating a partition for Windows files only:

  • Simpler to back up: you can back up the system partition and recover it when there is a failure.
  • Well-organized: separate the Windows files and personal files
  • Better data protection: When the Windows system crash or corrupts, other personal data would be influenced.

Now you know creating multiple partitions to store different data types is right and necessary. To create partitions smoothly on your new SSD, I will introduce you to operable software that can easily detect and partition the new hard drive - EaseUS Partition Master. Its New Disk Guide feature is designed to partition the new hard drive at one time effortlessly. Then, please download this software and learn the complete tutorial as follows:

Phase 1. Check the State of Your New SSD

Before creating partitions on your new SSD, you need to check its state to prepare for the partitioning process. Connect this SSD to your PC and Open Disk Management to see its state:

  • Show "Not Initialized": In this case, you need to initialize SSD before creating partitions.
  • Show "Unallocated": Your SSD is initialized and ready for disk partitioning.

If you are not clear about how to initialize your new SSD, follow the instruction in the link below:

Phase 2. Partition the SSD

When your SSD is ready, start partitioning it using EaseUS Partition Master:

Step 1. Launch EaseUS Partition Master and wait for the New Disk Guide window to show.

Step 2. Choose the "Partition this disk" option and set your ideal partition number, size, and style. Select "Proceed" to continue.

Step 3. Click "Execute 1 Task" and then hit "Apply."
