Is Recovery Drive Necessary?

I installed a new Windows system a few days ago, but my friend suggested I prepare a recovery drive to prevent system problems. On the one hand, I think what he said is reasonable. On the other hand, I think it is too troublesome. Is a recovery drive necessary? What do you guys think?

The recovery drive is an external storage device that contains a copy of the Windows operating system. With its help, if your system fails or crashes directly, you will be able to reinstall the Windows system and make the computer run normally.

You can think of the recovery drive as the spare tire of a car. On the road, you may never use the spare tire. But once one of your tires leaks, the spare tire can help you out of trouble immediately. If you are not prepared in advance, you can only call the trailer for rescue, which will not only delay a lot of time but also need to pay more money.

In other words, if you have an extra external device and like to prevent risks in advance, it is necessary for you to create a recovery drive. But if you can easily find professionals to repair your computer and don't care about the time and money consumption, there is no need for a recovery drive.

However, in case of a system crash, even if the system is reinstalled with the recovery drive, the data stored in your PC may be lost and cannot be recovered. Therefore, in order to ensure data security, you'd better use practical backup software like EaseUS Todo Backup Home to create a scheduled backup plan for your data.
