Why Do I Have Only One Drive on My New Laptop?

I recently bought a new laptop. I also have an old laptop. The new laptop only has this drive: Local Disc (C) While my old laptop has three drives. Why do I only have one drive on my new laptop? And what does each Drive use for? I don't know what any of the drives are. What is the function of each drive?

According to your description, the local drive C is a partition on your system disk. Partition means a logical division of a hard disk, a separate unit for operating and file systems. A new laptop usually comes with one partition(the system partition: the local C drive). You can partition your hard drive as you wish:

This one-click disk new partition tool will detect new disks and allow users to create multiple partitions simultaneously. The steps are here:

Step 1. Enter EaseUS Partition Master software, open "Partition Manager," when the New Disk Guide window appears, click "Partition this disk."

Step 2. Set the partition number and style(MBR or GPT)you want. Or, you can accept the default settings. Then, click "Proceed."

Step 3. Click "Execute 1 Task" > "Apply" to finalize this partitioning process.

Option 2. Create Partitions With Free Space

If your disk cannot trigger the New Disk Guide, you can make new partitions using the unallocated space on your disk:

Step 1. In the Partition Manager section, Right-click the unallocated space and click "Create."

Step 2. Customize the partition size, drive letter, label, file system (NTFS, FAT32, EXT2/3/4, exFAT), and other Advanced Settings. Click "OK".

Step 3. Click "Apply" and "Execute 1 Task" to finish partitioning your disk using the available unallocated space. Repeat the procedures below to create many more partitions on a hard drive.
